Mutants among us...

I'll just start right in by telling you folks I deserve a medal for getting the post up for this CRAZY month! June has really been something else for the Bryant family in UB. Well, heck, it's been quite awful for the whole Bryant clan! For those of you who don't know, my dad had to go into the hospital for a sick leg (4 dvts "blood clots") on June 3rd. He was there for 4 whole days trying his best to get better with the blood thinners. He got to come home on the 7th FINALLY; brother and I missed him so much. You should have seen mom playing nurse to him; she had to give him dirty old shots in his belly and yelled at him basically everytime he tried to move. When she missed an opportunity to boss him, Gramma B enthusiastically jumped in. Poor dad didn't know what to do with himself. He is now much better, barely a limp and doing fine on his coumadin (oral blood thinner). He's back to coaching Crossfit 3 days a week and he recently graduated to going in for blood testing only once a week, yay for dad. I think he was starting to feel like a pin cushion. Speaking of, we are lucky enough to get a monitor ordered for home use; that way, if dad can't get to his doctor, or if we ever get to go on vacation, or simply to fulfill mom's neuroses, he'll not have to worry about finding a lab. Isn't that great news? The best part is, mom and dad saved so much money because mom's new friends and employers, the Middletons', were nice enough to go through their medical supplier to order it for dad. You know that means more cash in the kitty for toys for yours truly AND brother (I guess)! Although the way it seems recently, we may just be putting it toward more doctor visits! Speaking of, bless my heart, I've been battling pneumonia for the past 2 weeks. I am getting better, but it's still hard to breathe when I get too hot or lie down. Please don't worry though, mom and dad are taking excellent care of me. Thanks again to Dr. Middleton for giving me the medicine to make me feel better. I am on my second course and mom has been saying her prayers this nasty old pneumonia will LEAVE ME ALONE! I want to get outside and play!! If you aren't quite feeling sorry enough for us yet, on with more news...We found out the reason dad got the clots was genetic. Since then, we've learned Gramps and aunt Amber have it too : (. All of us, me, brother, and my PA cousins have to be tested too. As you can imagine, the majority of us have been sick with worry. Not so much brother and me, but m&d, and grampagrampa have been beside themselves. Doesn't change a thing, but who in the world can help it?! Especially when beautiful babes like yours truly and brother are involved! Mom is taking me to be tested as soon as I feel a bit better. Lucky Jag gets to wait a few more months until he's 9 months old. Please keep all of us in your thoughts and prayers. Sorry to be so depressing folks, it has bee QUITE a month. We would like to especially thank Ms. Michele and Mr. James, Ms. Norma, our neighbors Crystle and Steve, the Middletons, and most of all Grampagrampa for all of their help and support. We don't know what we'd do without our friends and such a special mom and dad to drop everything and be here in a flash when we need them most. We sure know how blessed we truly are! Speaking of blessed, have you seen my little bro lately? OMGosh, he is something else. You should see him bouncing in his jump-a-roo. He almost brings down the house. Between the two of us, I am a bit surprised it is still standing. M&D are thankful that brother is finally putting all the toys and gadgets they bought for me to good use! He's such a showoff, he plays with EVERYTHING. I have become quite the tricyclist lately; go ahead and pencil me in for the tour de france! You should see how fast I can ram stuff on that thing. Thank goodness for the helmet, I am sure Grampagrampa had no idea how well I would put that to use. I am also looking forward to getting back into my pool; you should see how beautiful it looks. Dad got it all vacuumed and sparkly clean for us. Poor mom couldn't figure out how to use the pool vac; honestly, I don't know what in the world she'd do without dad! He had a great father's day by the way. We took him to lunch at Macaroni Grill and to the mall to play with Thomas the train. He LOVES playing with trains. Then we came home and both brother and I took a nap as our father's day present to dad. How about that?! Then he grilled a delicious dinner for all of us! We're so happy to see him back in action at the grill, in fact, anyone is better than mom! She always looks like she's trying to set the yard on fire but somehow never manages to get the meat done...puzzling. Let's say she is definitely out of her element; sometimes there's even grass all over our sausages. She tried to tell us this was a new seasoning, but I'm not buying it. I would like to write and tell you all of the hilarious things I am saying and doing these days. All I can tell you is it is much better witnessed in person. In fact, both of us are. So, if you get the chance, please come on up and see us, we are well worth the drive. Meanwhile, keep all of us in your thoughts and try not to hold it against us that we're mutants. Mutants need love and friendship too! (you have to laugh about it otherwise, you'd go crazy) Take care of yourselves and remember to wish aunt Linda, uncle Dana, Nanny Hively, cousins Carrie, David, and Chase all very happy birthdays. We'd also like to take a moment to congratulate our beautiful, poised, and incredibly intelligent cousin, Kamrie Costello, on her graduation and what we know was an inspiring and wonderful speech. We are so sorry we missed it, and the party, and also that we railroaded Gram and Gramp's attendance. We are so proud of Kamrie and we know in our hearts she will be a raving success at any endeavor she attempts. We will have our own celebration on our beach vacation, and we're all looking forward to that so much. Due to her greatness, we are only slightly mad about her eating ALL of the delicious cake and not saving us even a morsel! HAHA. We miss you and love you all dearly, thank you avid reader for your loyalty and interest in our beautiful little family. Hugs and kisses with a capital K, Cooper B.
